Reporting to: Warehouse & Logistics Manager
Objective: To be responsible for the day-to-day activities of Warehouse and team ensuring parts are delivered on-time-in-full for production supply and stock location and control is managed in the Warehouse in a timely and efficient way.
Responsibilities
- Lead the logistics team, through coaching and mentoring, to develop an organised, structured team-approach to enable supply to meet production demands in a fast-paced engineering environment.
- Achieve ‘High Availability’, “Stock Accuracy” and ‘On Time and In Full’ (OTIF) for a continuous improvement approach to drive business and customer service improvement
- Ensuring that deliveries received are unloaded & processed accurately & delivered to the point of use, stock location or the person who ordered them in a timely manner in line with the Company procedures. Matching expected quantities and part numbers with received items
- To ensure that all team members adhere to all Health & Safety rules and Company procedures.
- Ensure that housekeeping in all product storage areas responsible for is of a high standard.
- Develop and ensure documented standard working practices are being worked to, so as to enable the warehouse team to perform to the best of their abilities in support of the business needs.
- Working closely with the Warehouse and Logistics Manager to assist and provide support with duties concerning warehouse and stock movement throughout the facility.
- Work closely with internal teams (e.g., Manufacturing, Planning, Purchasing,) to ensure that incoming and out-going deliveries are made on time, providing prompt resolutions for any stock location or quantity issue.
The Candidate
- A logistics practitioner having knowledge, and history, of working in a fast-paced, growing company within both low volume, high variance, and medium volume automotive or engineering manufacturing supply environments.
- Demonstrable experience in building a structured and organised team, with leadership abilities to coach and inspire great performance.
- Proven ability to act calmly under pressure, with clarity of thought, and to lead clear and decisive action.
- IT literate with a good understanding of Excel, and MRP / ERP systems.
- A well organised and supportive individual, with a focus on detail and accuracy.
- Seeks to adhere to laid down policies and procedures, but also to enhance and sustain them to ensure fitness for purpose.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
