Reporting to: Planning Manager
Objective: The Assembly Planner is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring assembly activities to ensure timely production, material availability, and effective coordination with suppliers and internal teams. The role supports assembly operations by maintaining accurate planning data, chasing suppliers, and assisting colleagues with day-to-day planning tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain assembly schedules based on production plans and priorities.
- Ensure assembly activities are aligned with material availability and capacity.
- Support colleagues by coordinating daily and weekly assembly plans.
- Produce paperwork to allow the assembly of parts and ensure jobs are kitted and passed on timely manner to cells.
- Track material and component deliveries from suppliers.
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.
- Perform any other assembly planning–related tasks as assigned by management.
- Monitor the business system data and identify issues requiring attention such as late slow moving or errors.
- Support stock taking activities with count sheets and data entry.
- Comply with business policies and procedures.
- Cooperate with all other areas as when required.
- Control Waste stream management organising collections and deliveries and subsequent paperwork to ensure adherence to environmental requirements.
Additional Working Hours
Longer hours may be required during busy periods.
The Candidate
- Able to understand & maintain the materials management system, ensuring that transactions are identified and that their status is accurate and up to date.
- To be production focused where availability and supply is essential.
- Must have the ability and confidence to stop processes if quality standards are not met, or if the safety of themselves or other people is in doubt.
