Ford F-150 Lightning Supertruck claims King of the Mountain at Pikes Peak

The Ford F-150 Lightening SuperTruck made a time of eight minutes and fifty-three seconds, claiming fastest on the mountain at the 2024 event.

Romain Dumas, the overall record holder for the Race to the Clouds piloted the 1,600hp F-150 Lightning SuperTruck. “I’m honoured to achieve this victory with Ford Performance at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb” said Dumas. “Everything about this event is a challenge because it is unlike any other form of racing, you only have one shot. We faced a challenge early on but that only gave me more determination to make up the lost time in the rest of the run.”

The Ford F-150 Lightning SuperTruck EV is equipped with:

  • Alcon CAR95 ENP Trans-Am calipers
  • Alcon CAR23 ENP GT calipers
  • Surface Transform CSiC brake discs

Alcon is exhibiting at Goodwood Festival of Speed (10th – 14th July 2024). ‘No Holding Back’ Award

Mary Barker-Samuel won the Alcon ‘No Holding Back’ Award, presented by Jonathan Edwards, Alcon Group Sales Director. The Award is presented annually to a driver who will have demonstrated outstanding perseverance and determination in their race to the 14,115’ summit of Pikes Peak. A voucher for $12,000 worth of bespoke race brake / clutch products was presented to Mary.

Jonathan Edwards said: “Mary has overcome many challenges this last year and demonstrated inspiring resilience. She decided she wanted to race up the mountain, set her mind to it and went for it despite what life had been throwing at her. Mary and Kendall (husband) prepare their cars themselves and it was clear during race week that they wouldn’t let anything stop them. We were thrilled to see Mary reach the top of Pikes Peak, where she married Kendall! A very special week for these guys. Huge congratulations on behalf of the Alcon team.”
